The Challenge of Climate Change for Manitobans
Tuesday, February 13th from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Last November, the Province proposed this vision: “Manitoba will be Canada’s cleanest, greenest and most climate resilient province.” What would it take to make this come true? What role can each of us play?
Peter Miller of our church Green Action Committee (and long-time contributor to policy development at Green Action Centre) will provide some background and lead a discussion on this topic on Tuesday, February 13th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the living room of the church. Peter is stepping in for Curt Hull, who has a conflict.
Resolution for the Right to a Healthy Environment
On November 8th at the Annual General Meeting the congregation of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg adopted a resolution calling for making a clean environment (water, air and soil) a human right. The resolution was passed almost unanimously with just one abstention. The resolution commits the congregation to advocating for the cause.
