Do Unitarian Universalists Practice What They Preach?

Religious liberals put less emphasis on formal beliefs and more on practical living. Our interest is in deeds, not creeds. We appreciate the biblical text, “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only.”

Our members have been active leaders in the struggles for racial equality, civil liberty, international peace, and equal rights for all people. We work as individuals, in congregational social action, and in other groupings.

We (The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg) are very proud of our Welcoming Congregation status, and we are working on becoming a Green Sanctuary.

UU Bits and Bytes

UU Terminology

"Unitarian Universalism" refers to the movement/religion that a Unitarian Universalist identfies with. Some Unitarian Universalists refer to themselves simply as "Unitarians" for short.

"UUism" and "UUs" are very common abbreviations for the religion with such a long name.

The "Unitarian Universalist Association" is an American association of Unitarian Universalist congregations. It is the largest organization of Unitarian Universalists worldwide. It was formed in 1961
