Facility Rentals

E-mail Print PDF

The Board of Directors of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg is proud to offer its unique facility to community groups for concerts and fundraisers and to private parties for rites of passage and celebrations, when it is not in use by its membership.

For reservations and to view the property, phone the administrative office at 474-1261.

There are two areas of use available on a fee-for-service basis:

Area #1: The spacious living room and dining room of the original house at 603 Wellington Crescent

Living Room

The house was built in 1914 and is recognized as one of Winnipeg’s historic sites. It was designed to take advantage of its riverside property on Wellington Crescent by the same Montreal architectural firm that built the Fort Garry Hotel a year earlier.

The living room and dining room with a central hallway are ideally furnished for small receptions of up to 60 people. Beer and wine may be served. Users are responsible for the liquor license for events.

Staircase in HouseThe entire main floor of the original house is available on a fee-for-service basis starting at $400 for four hours of use. Either the living room or dining room is available separately starting at $225.

The kitchen is licensed for caterers to serve food and may be included for an additional fee-for-service.

Area #2: The sanctuary of the main church building adjoining the house at 603 Wellington Crescent

The sanctuary was completed in 2003 as a multipurpose area and may be used for rites of passage and for concerts. It has a seating capacity of 180.

Alternatively, the multipurpose area can be reset with up to 12 tables of eight occupants, total dining capacity 96.

Sanctuary

The use of the large foyer located conveniently between the multipurpose area and the kitchen is included at no additional cost and may be set up as a reception area or as a buffet food area. Beer and wine may be served. Users are responsible for the liquor license for events.

The multipurpose area with the reception area is available on a fee-for-service basis starting at $475 for four hours of use.

The kitchen may be included for an additional fee-for-service; a grand piano and sound system are also available on a fee-for-service basis.

The grounds of the riverside property are under development for use for rites of passage and a patio is in the planning stages, hopefully to be completed this summer.
