Welcome to the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg! We are a vibrant, intentionally inclusive community, regardless of gender identity, economic circumstance, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, or national origin.

Ours is a non-creedal faith. Our quest for community, social justice, intellectual freedom and support draws us together, and calls us to life-long learning and spiritual growth. We do not require that anyone adopt a specific set of beliefs, but agree that wisdom and truth reside in aspects of many faiths. Among us are those who identify with Christianity, humanism, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Earth-Centered spirituality, atheism, or agnosticism.

Religious exploration is a way of life, as well as the name of our Sunday School program. We welcome you to join us on your spiritual journey! Our Sunday services are held year-round, from 10:30 a.m. until about 11:30 a.m., followed by refreshments and conversation. Childcare is available throughout the service, as well as a dynamic program of religious exploration for children and youth.

Feel free to send us an e-mail with questions or comments at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it We welcome you, and look forward to sharing the adventure that is life and the spiritual journey.

~ Reverend Millie Rochester, Minister

Webside Pulpit

“There are times, perhaps largely in the majority, when the material values press upon us and demand our attention. The average day is a busy day, and of necessity is concerned about bread and raiment. But there are other times when the roar of traffic is unheard, and in the solemn silence we find ourselves considering the things that are unseen and eternal.” ~ Julian C. Jaynes (born January 18, 1854)

UU Bits and Bytes

Politics and UUs

Historically, Unitarian Universalists have often been active in political causes, notably the civil rights movement, the gay rights movement, the social justice movement, and the feminist movement.

In the 19th century, Unitarians and Universalists were active in abolitionism, the women's movement, the temperance movement and other social reform movements. The second woman's rights convention was held at the First Unitarian church in Rochester, NY.
