Non-defensive Communication Workshop

During these three, two- hour weekly sessions, we will learn about Sharon Ellison’s Powerful Non-Defensive Communication™ skills. Her techniques allow people to identify and reduce their own defensive reactions, and communicate in a way that is less likely to trigger defensive reactions in others.

We will focus on how to articulate assumptions so that they can be corrected or verified, how to ask questions to get a better understanding of the other person’s perspective, and how to express thoughts with clarity and power without being adversarial or judgmental. Her award winning publications of “Taking the War Out of Our Words: The Art of Powerful Non-Defensive Communication” and “Taking the Power Struggle Out of Parenting” provide insightful instruction that many people find life changing.

  • Facilitator: Pat Lane
  • Three Mondays: March 7, 14, 21
  • 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the RE shared space on the lower level

“The distinctive characteristic of all false religion is that it seeks to make men worship God through the influence of terror and dread of punishment.”
