Message from the Ministerial Search Committee
Dear members and friends,
We successfully interviewed three pre-candidates in Winnipeg over the past few months. We toured the church and the city, had interviews and Q&As, attended sermonds/services they delivered, and learned more about how this partnership could work. They had great things to say about our church and city. Thankfully our Winnipeg winter did not scare off any of our pre-candidates!
This process of pre-candidating has taught us so much about our religion and ourselves. The candidates opened our eyes to new knowledge and possibilities. One thing we learned was just how diverse the role of the minister is.
Our next step in the process is to invite one of the candidates to candidating week. We are looking forward to introducing you to each other. Our tentative candidating week is May 6-14. Stay tuned for a schedule! We look forward to your input for and assistance with this week.

Hello members and friends,
What a busy time for the MSC! We had 11 ministers who expressed interest in our congregation. We interviewed 5, and have chosen 3 to pre-candidate. In April we will present you with our final candidate. Please stay tuned for more information regarding candidating week.
Thanks to your input from the survey and focus groups, we were able to attract remarkable ministers. We have been enthusiastically learning about their theological points of view, experiences, expectations, and why they want to come to Winnipeg.
Our pre-candidate weekends are spent getting to know the ministers on a more personal level. We tour our church, attend a service they deliver, show them around the city, and spend some less-formal time with them. We have a two-way interview. It lets us get to know them better, and allows them to ask us questions about our congregation, our past and future, and our city.
Some parting thoughts for you:
What can you do to help the new minister (and possibly family) with the transition?
How can you prepare yourself for this exciting transition?
What are you most looking forward to?
