February 26, 2012: Reflections on Lay Chaplaincy

Over the years, many members of our congregation have served as Lay Chaplains – people specifically selected and trained to perform rites of passage for non-members and others who are not necessarily Unitarian Universalists. Lay Chaplains are approved and registered by the Canadian Unitarian Council, and are licensed by the province. This morning we reflect on this long-standing program through which committed individuals create meaningful rituals that mark important life passages.

UU Bits and Bytes

Love is the Spirit of This Church

Love is the spirit of this church,
the quest for truth its sacrament,
and service is its law.

This is our great covenant:
To dwell together in peace,
to seek truth in love,
and to help one another
to the end that all souls
shall grow into harmony with Life.
