Fundraising Committee Report: 2010 Projects

The following is the latest update of fundraising projects and events scheduled between January 1 and June 30, 2010. The main coordinators are listed with each event. It can be assumed that, for each event, the sanctuary, the lobby and the kitchen will be booked. For further information on any given event, please contact the corresponding coordinators.

January 24, Sun.: Deck Launch – Lois Whyte and Liz Redston. Events (Online auction, Buy-a-Board, special donations) continue until March 15.

February 20, Sat.: OWL Cabaret – Brian Klowak and the OWL Committee (OWL fund raiser).

March: Beginning of Stewardship Campaign – Harry Peters and Stewardship Committee.

March 13, Sat.: European Travelogue – Larry Phillips and Anne Bigelow.

April 4, Sun. (four Sundays) to April 25, Sun.: Services Sale – Carla Moore.

April 17, Sat.: Charlie Chaplin Movie Night – Joan Carolyn.

April, Sun.: (to be confirmed) April Luncheon – Rosemary George.

April 22, Thurs., April 23, Fri., Aril 24, Sat.: Yard Sale pricing, set up and Jumbo Yard Sale – Annette Lowe & Jane Kalbfleisch.

May 1, Sat. from 3:30pm to 12:00: Family pot luck, and Travelling Medicine Show Cabaret, with Rollin Penner – Sandra Somerville, Carolyn Garlich and the Green Action Committee.

May 15, Sat.: UU Choir Concert – P.J. Buchan and the UU Choir.

June: no FRC events scheduled.

Jefferson Edits Bible

While working in the White House, President Jefferson set out to edit four gospels. He was so convinced the Bible’s true message was hidden that he cut up the pages and reedited it. He wanted to do away with the artificial stuff and restore the genuine doctrines. Some of the controversial changes were removing the virgin birth and the resurrection. He wanted the authentic message of Jesus, such as absolute love, forgiveness, and service rather than the miracle of annunciation.
