Get Involved Fundraising Annual Yard Sale, April 24th

Annual Yard Sale, April 24th

E-mail Print PDF

The Church’s JUMBO YARD SALE will be held Saturday, April 24th. There are many ways you can contribute to this annual fundraiser:

1. Donate to the sale.

We welcome:

  • boutique items such as art, china and pottery, fine linens, jewelry, antiques and other collectibles
  • books
  • kitchen and household items
  • toys
  • linens
  • accessories
  • furniture in good condition

We can’t accept:

  • Mattresses
  • upholstered furniture
  • plastic water bottles
  • clothing and shoes

Please drop off large furniture items within a week or two of the sale. Bring in your other donations any time. Leave them in the old bathroom on the second floor. Please don’t wait until the day before the sale since we will need some time to sort and price.

2. Volunteer to help with the sale. Closer to April 24th, we will be looking for volunteers--to price, set up and clean up; put up signs in the neighborhood; to act as security or cashiers.

3. Shop at the sale. Come out April 24th and have a look!

We appreciate your support!

UU Bits and Bytes

UUism is Born

Much more evangelical than Unitarianism, which had a pronounced intellectual and urban ethos, Universalism spread across rural and small-town North America during the 19th and 20th centuries. Through their common emphasis on social action (such as the anti-slavery movement and the later suffragette and birth-control debates) and their evolving theologies of respect for the revelations of secular science, Unitarianism and Universalism drifted closer together, until their eventual official merger in 1961.

“The distinctive characteristic of all false religion is that it seeks to make men worship God through the influence of terror and dread of punishment.”
