Audio Visual Committee
The Audio Visual Committee was formed in 2010 in response to the growing need in our UU community for all things electronic, especially related to sound reinforcement and archiving of church services.
The AV committee meets whenever necessary to discuss (among other things) the use, purchasing and maintenance of our sound and video equipment. Sound training is offered (free) to members interested in running sound on Sunday mornings.

Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee's efforts supplement the funds needed to support the work of our Winnipeg Church, and the Committee members coordinate the year’s fundraisers to coincide with other membership events.
Our goals are to put the “fun” into fundraising, to include as many UU members and friends as want to be involved in the events, and to uphold and integrate our purposes and principles in the way we fundraise. To that end, the committee has consciously made a decision to support Manitoba and Canadian producers and crafters in the products that we offer for sale in our UU Gift Shop, as well as to support far reaching efforts in offering Fair Trade world products to our customers.

Green Action Committee
The Green Action Committee's purpose is to make our church a greener place by enhancing our congregational and individual awareness and practices, and to make our church a catalyst for environmentally sustainable change in the broader community.
The group meets at the church on the third Sunday of the month, immediately after the service. Grab a coffee and goodies, bring a lunch and join us. We usually meet in the dining room, but we use the board room when the dining room is unavailable.
If you are interested in joining, come to a meeting or contact the committee co-chairs Stephanie Harvey and Taziona Rodrigues. The Board Liaison is Adrian Hynes.

Lay Chaplains
What is Unitarian Universalist lay chaplain’s role?
When the regular minister is not available, especially in the summer or when the minister is at conferences, a trained and elected lay chaplain may take the minister’s place for some ceremonies.
Weddings, funerals, child-naming, and other transition ceremonies such as coming out are examples, though some congregations which do not have a minister often rely on a chaplain for sermons and other services.

Pastoral Care Committee
Providing pastoral care for one another is one of the most important roles of members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg.
The Pastoral Care Committee coordinates the role of individual members in listening and responding to others through visits, calls, notes, flowers, and special outreach programs, all of which assist in the creation of a caring congregation.
Members of the Pastoral Care Committee meet monthly and keep in touch as necessary to respond to the pastoral care needs of members of our congregation. A team member is available at the pastoral care table each Sunday morning from September to June to receive messages that members wish to be shared as part of the service, and to lead the Celebrations and Concerns ritual during the service. Team members light candles during the summer for pastoral care concerns to be shared with the congregation.
Committee members may be involved directly in providing pastoral care through written communication, telephone calls, and visits, or indirectly in coordinating contacts by members of the congregation. The Pastoral Care Team also plans and coordinates special outreach programs which currently include the delivery of holiday dainties in December, and potted flowers in May. The delivery of flowers follows a service which highlights the importance all members of our congregation exploring their role in the ministry of Pastoral Care.

Welcoming Congregation Committee
As a faith community, Unitarians have been at the forefront of equality issues in North America - and specifically gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans-gendered and two-spirited issues (GLBT) since the early 1970’s. The Unitarian Universalist Association passed a resolution at its General Assembly in July 1970 calling for an end to discrimination against lesbian women and gay men.
Vision
The Office is guided by the vision that someday we will be able to put ourselves out of business and that oppression against bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people of all ages, abilities, colors, and genders, whether it be overt or subtle, will be a thing of the past.
